On September 16, 2026, we had the opportunity to hold a hands-on workshop with students from Technical University – Gabrovo, dedicated to a topic that is becoming increasingly important for every young professional: How Knowledge and Skills Are Transformed into Real Professional Value in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.
The seminar „From Skill to Career: How Do You Build Professional Value in the Age of AI?“ was held with Vasil Garbov as a guest lecturer and brought together students interested in their future career development, technology, entrepreneurship, and opportunities in today’s job market.
From Technical Knowledge to a Real Career
Today, access to information is greater than ever. Artificial intelligence can help with coding, analysis, design, research, automation, and solving a variety of everyday tasks.
But having technical knowledge alone does not guarantee a successful career.
Therefore, the main focus of the meeting was on the question:
How do we turn our capabilities into value that people and businesses are willing to trust us with?
In a relatively short period of time, we were able to cover a wide range of practical topics and real-life scenarios from our professional experience.

Among them were:
- building a strong portfolio;
- professional positioning;
- communication with employers, clients, and partners;
- How to Build Trust and personal reputation;
- working with clients and understanding their actual needs;
- the basics of sales and presenting one's own skills;
- pricing and evaluation of work;
- use of AI as a Professional Tool, rather than as a substitute for independent thinking;
- Adapting to the rapidly changing labor market.
Not ready-made recipes, but real, hands-on experience
The purpose of the seminar was not to provide a universal formula for a successful career.
Such a thing probably doesn't exist.
Instead, we shared real-life examples—including both successful solutions and mistakes, challenging situations, and lessons learned—that could be helpful to people who are just starting to build their careers.
One of the key points was that A career doesn't begin after graduation.
It begins the moment a person starts consciously developing their skills, working on real projects, building a portfolio, communicating with people in the industry, and understanding how their knowledge can solve real-world problems.
AI changes the tools, but it does not negate the value of human beings
Of course, a significant portion of the conversation was also devoted to artificial intelligence.
AI is already changing the way web developers, designers, engineers, marketing professionals, entrepreneurs, and specialists in a number of other fields work.
But that is precisely why qualities such as critical thinking, communication, creativity, responsibility, and the ability to solve real-world problems become even more valuable.
The real advantage won't just be knowing how to use AI.
The advantage will be knowing When, why, and what to use it for, so that the final result will be better.
A lot of topics in a short amount of time
The event was organized on short notice and with minimal advance preparation, but that is precisely what made the format exceptionally dynamic.
In the limited time we had, we managed to cover a wide range of practical topics and lay the groundwork for a conversation that definitely deserves to be continued.
We would like to thank Technical University – Gabrovo and the Career Center for its prompt response, organization, and making this meeting possible.
We would also like to thank all the students who took the time to ask questions and show interest in the topics.
The next step—an even more practical format for students from Gabrovo and the region
That meeting was a good start.
Our next goal is to prepare a more detailed program, a better pre-event communication campaign, and even more practical examples, so that an event like this can reach more students and young people from Gabrovo and the Region.
We believe that the connection between universities, the business community, and people with real-world experience is extremely important.
Especially at a time when technology is changing at a tremendous pace.
Because whether we're talking about web development, design, engineering, entrepreneurship, or any other professional field, one question remains the same:
How can we turn our skills into value?
And it is precisely this conversation that we want to continue.
