Vasil Garbov is the founder of the boutique web agency Digital New Era (newerawebsites.com), specializing in creative and high-performance web solutions. With over 5+ years of professional experience in web design and development, his projects have been recognized with numerous awards including "Site of the Year" in several categories.
One of his projects was included in Elementor's Web Design Trends for 2025, and in 2023 he received recognition for his contribution to digital development in Bulgaria. Some of his work can also be viewed in his personal portfolio (gurbov.design).
He recently joined BESCO, motivated by a personal goal - to create a digital product in Bulgaria with a market value of at least BGN 1 million. This is the basis of his new project Studio New Era (studionewera.com), which offers the concept of "website as a service" - affordable subscription solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as rapid idea validation for large companies.
Vasil is an active participant in the Bulgarian web and entrepreneurial ecosystem and believes in creating a more dynamic, innovative and sustainable development environment.

1. How would you describe your professional role in the studio in one sentence?
I'm the guy at Digital New Era who mixes 50% improv, 25% process optimization, and 25% strategic web project management.
2. What inspired you to choose a career in web design?
Thanks to my professional experience, time and patience, I was able to find out what I am good at and what I find interesting. I created a new role on my own - Full Stack Web Designer. I basically work on all stages of a web project, my main focus is always on the interface and user experience. I chose web development from an industry perspective because it allows me to be competitive from day one.
3. What is your superpower (skill) that you bring to the team?
I am able to think as a designer, developer and end user at the same time and translate the language of ideas into working digital solutions.
4. Which project or achievement are you most proud of?
My place on the Site of the Year jury is an honor, but winning in 2022 reminds me that when you put heart and meaning into a project, it speaks for itself. With the technology and my personal skills at the time, I think my personal website proved it - gurbov.design
5. What is your approach to solving challenging problems?
I divide the problem into small tasks and complete them one by one, quickly assessing how long it will take me to plan the whole process successfully.

6. What motivates you the most in your work?
To bring value to the clients and partners we work with and leave them impressed.
7. If you had to describe the working atmosphere in the team in three words, what would they be?
Focus, ambition, optimization.
8. What inspires you outside of work and how does this reflect in your profession?
My family, my wife, my son, sports. More than half my life has been spent in combat sports. I've tasted victory and loss, and there is no greater inspiration than that.
9. Is there a book, quote or principle that you follow in your work?
"If it's beautiful but doesn't work, it's not good. If it works but is not beautiful, it is still not good."
10. What do you think makes a project really successful?
Clear communication between contractor and client and putting ego aside.

11. How do you spend your free time - something that helps you "reboot"?
Family and sport.
12. If you could learn a new professional skill in a day, what would it be?
Super automation with AI.
13. What do you want customers and partners to associate your name with?
As I've written on the site under "About Us" - we don't do anything great, but we do it in a memorable and successful way. I don't want to convince anyone of anything, but they themselves want to work together.
14. What is the most valuable lesson you have learned in your professional career?
It doesn't have to be perfect to work, and time is the most precious resource.
15. What would you say to someone just starting out in our industry?
Don't listen to the masses and don't blindly follow trends. Choose what you are passionate about and enjoy and become the best at it.
